Lunch with Mayor Condon

Spokane Mayor, David A. Condon, joined Washington Trust Bank employees for a Lunch and Learn session held at our WTB headquarters.  Mayor Condon shared his vision for Volunteer Spokane and Spokane Gives.

What is Spokane Gives?

Spokane Gives is a community-wide initiative designed to encourage year-round volunteerism and track existing volunteer efforts in our community. The first Spokane Gives week was April 12 – 19. During Spokane Gives week nearly 7,000 people volunteered over 27,000 hours of their time. While Spokane Gives is a one week event, the Volunteer Spokane http://www.volunteerspokane.org/ website serves as a portal to connect volunteers to local events or organization in need of services. Right now about 100 Spokane-area non-profits have signed up on the portal.

There are nearly 600 non-profits in the Spokane area, all of which have volunteer needs. You can learn more about the volunteer opportunities available in Spokane through Volunteer Spokane.  http://www.volunteerspokane.org/.

The Mission:

There’s no limit to what an act of service could be. The aim of Spokane Gives is to find an opportunity for citizens of Spokane to share their passions and drive together toward the ultimate goal of an enriched community.
